The new centre is not yet open, but WALK, the centre of excellence for walking, has already realised its first project. With the dedication of the natural monument “Eisstein” on the Wasserpfad trail in Hiddesen, today we completed a project that should instil a sense of responsibility when interacting with water courses as laid down by the European Water Framework Directive as well as when using drinking water. The “Eisstein”, the biggest boulder thus far found in the region, was moved to the starting point of the Wasserpfad trail in Hiddesen. A detailed information board conveys background knowledge on this natural monument, which can be found in a vibrant setting surrounded by spring water. It was implemented in collaboration with the Kneipp- und Verkehrsverin Hiddesen association. You can find out more about our other projects here.
