We combine walking tours and culture
Hermann country offers walkers a range of difficulty levels. But there is one thing that we don’t find easy: to enrich a tour with culture and history.
At WALK, the competence centre for hiking, we do this in two ways: we inform walkers about suitable offers and constantly create new ones.
Our employees in the information area know where walkers can best experience culture. At the same time, new culture projects are already being worked on in the offices behind.
In the footsteps of Max Weber
Maybe not everyone can think like a philosopher. But everyone can hike. On the Philosopher Trail in the Weberpark, we are currently mending the “Jacob’s ladder”. Where the great philosopher Max Weber once found the peace he needed for his thoughts while walking, walkers can climb 251 steps and be rewarded with an impressive view of Oerlinghausen that will clear their heads.
On the sounds of nature
Concerts, films, plays and readings are particularly enjoyable when performed in the middle of the forest. The forest stage at the Hermann monument is one such natural stage. Here, we are implementing a partial and flexible cover for the stage that can cater for up to 1000 visitors. Walkers and guests will thus be able to enjoy a performance whatever the weather.
